Summer Arts Sampler

June 03, 2009

If you are looking for a fun, family event this summer, then plan to attend the Summer Arts Sampler at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts on Thursday, June 18 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.  Guests will enjoy a summer buffet, meet Montgomery native, Charlie Lucas, create one-of-a-kind pieces of art and have the chance to explore the exciting exhibits both inside and outside, including “Lookin’ Good! Lookin’ Good!” by Patrick Dougherty on the Museum lawn.

After mingling and exploring the Museum visitors can take inspiration from Charlie Lucas or Patrick Dougherty and create their own wire sculptures and/or “mini” stick weaving sculptures.

The cost of the Summer Arts Sampler for adults is $10 for members and $15 for non-members.  Children ages 3 to 12 are $8 for members and $12 for non-members.  There is also a special members only rate for a family of four that is $28 with free admission for one child.

For more information or to make reservations please call 334.240.4365.

The Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Sunday Noon to 5 p.m. Admission is free and donations are welcome. For more information, call the MMFA at 334.240.4333 or visit the website at www.mmfa.org.
