 PRESCHOOL POTTERS (AGES 4 TO 6)
This informative series of classes is designed to introduce young artists, accompanied by a parent or adult partner, to working in clay. Students will make simple projects such as animal masks, texture tiles, and garden ornaments. They will also finish their artwork by glazing and adding mixed media.

Beginners as well as those with more experience in working with glass are welcome! The class size is limited to eight students to allow for individual instruction.  FIRST FRIDAYS
First Fridays Fall into the crisp sounds of First Fridays! Join us this fall as we welcome back Montana Skies, scheduled to play November 7, 2008. This husband and wife duo, Jennifer and Jason Adams, is sure to be a crowd pleaser with their new acoustic sound. Montana Skies performs using a rare pairing of cello, six-string electric cello, spanish classical guitar, and steel string guitar. If you missed their performance in April, do not miss them in November!  FLORAL IMPRESSIONS
Floral Impressions Spend a lovely fall afternoon with two of Montgomery’s incredible artists! Learn about the art of creating unusual floral arrangements with Eddie Scott, florist extraordinaire, as artist Clark Walker interprets the still life inspirations in paint. Participants will also have an opportunity to create their own still life impressions in watercolor. Saturday: October 4 Time: 2 to 4 P.M. Cost: $35 members/$70 non-members

On these delightful Sunday afternoons, become inspired by enjoying the Museum exhibitions, then make your own creations! These activities are designed to last approximately 30 minutes and to enhance a featured exhibition at the Museum. Brief guided tours of the related exhibition are also included in this free program for all ages. Children under 10 must have an adult chaperone.

 SUNDAY FILM
Connecticut Seasons of Light: Cradle of American Impressionism October 5 2 to 3 P.M. This Emmy Award-winning film explores the work of Childe Hassam, J. Alden Weir, John Twachtman and the natural world that inspired them. The showing will follow a docent- led tour of American Impressionism: Paintings from the Phillips Collection at 1 P.M.

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 7

 TODDLER CRAFTS & STORYTIME
(ages 2 to 4) Begin art enrichment early in this class for parents and young children, combining storytelling, books, and simple art activities. A variety of art media will be explored each time, such as oil pastels, markers, watercolor, acrylic and tempera paint. These classes fill up quickly, so sign up early for one class or a series of classes! Class size is limited to 10 children, each accompanied by an adult partner.  THE ART OF DANCE
The Art of Dance A Series of Presentations by Elie Lazar, Artistic Director of the Montgomery Ballet Free to the Public Sponsored by the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts
Join us in the Wilson Auditorium for four fascinating lectures by Elie Lazar, artistic director of the Montgomery Ballet. The lectures will be held from 11 A.M. to noon on four Saturdays throughout the year: October 11, 2008; November 8, 2008; January 24, 2009; and February 21, 2009. The lectures are designed for watching the magic of dance unfold with an up-close view of the dancers. The audience can follow the progression of the dancers’ discipline, accuracy, and knowledge.
Following the presentation, make reservations to enjoy a wonderful lunch in our Café M. At 2 P.M, be sure to catch an afternoon matinee at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival.
